April Lockhart
April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She started piano and guitar lessons in seventh grade. This sparked curiosity. At the age of seven, April began taking piano and guitar lessons. This ignited her interest to write songs. At the age of 14 April spent a lot of her day singing and writing songs. Then, she began to take trips to NY and LA with her Dad to help them to write songs. April included other subjects in her track"Take my Hand. These topics were for friends that dealt with issues such as peer pressure disabilities or even teen suicidal thinking. Lockhart also enjoys an increasing following as a lifestyle influencer as well as a spokesperson for the popular clean beauty company Ilia. She was born without her left hand, and it's part of who she is--but it's hardly her whole story. So, Lockhart's Instagram account isn't afraid to talk about her disabilities, yet it doesn't center around her disability as well. What message is it sending? The message? We have many different aspects, that our identities and physical bodies aren't what appear. Lockhart speaks via video in Nashville. "I do not wish for it to dictate my personal life. I do not want to be merely identified as a specialist in disability. This doesn't influence my day-to-day routine. I go about doing my job as normal and have come up with my own ways to adapt. Since it's a an integral part of me and something worth talking about. Her journey to self-acceptance will be one that lasts for a long time, and she can be a role model for this purpose. Yet, she confesses that she has had periods when she felt uncomfortable with her appearance, and the clothes with arms. She can wear whatever she wants, and she happily shares pictures of her dressed in her favorite outfits. One of the keys to self-love for her is that it's not a place to go. It's the same for everybody regardless of the level of insecurity. It's my opinion that having those around you who really are aware of you and know your feelings is crucial as they'll be the ones that remind you of what are you concerned about?
