Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the United States. Ashford is an actor as well as a singer and dancer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway performances, she starred her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. She was awarded an award from the Tony Award for Best Featured actor in the Play for playing Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford is a Tony Award winner actor has worked with many famous directors and actors for stage productions and on television. She continues this award-winning career with her upcoming projects. Ashford can be seen next as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It debuts on the 22nd November. Ashford's upcoming project is Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust which he is starring in with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film will be available through Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. Ashford will be returning in 2023, and will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the return of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton is the director of the show. Ashford has been seen most recently as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. This show is based around the National Crisis that saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp at the center of the first impeachment proceeding in America over a Century. For two seasons, she was a star of CBS's hit comedy B Positive. It was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not new to Broadway won both Tony Drama Desk Awards as well as Outer Critics Circle Awards in her character in the role of Essie. Some other Broadway roles for Ashford are Sunday in the Park, with George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this role, she earned the Tony Award nomination. Ashford is a native of Denver. She was born and raised in Denver, now spends time between Los Angeles and New York.
